How to Prepare for Your Class

   

HYDRATE

Not only water, but also replenish your electrolytes. Signs of dehydration include headache and nausea. Take it easy, and remember to not eat right before class.

BE COURTEOUS

Be clean, quiet, and respectful to others. Yoga practice is as much about how you treat others as it is about how you care for yourself.

  

SELF COMPASSION

Sometimes it is a victory to simply stay in the heated room for the entire class. Feel free to sit down or skip a posture or two. You'll see improvement over time.

ARRIVE EARLY

Class starts on time! Plan to be at the studio 15 minutes early with a yoga mat, a large towel and water. Wear comfortable workout clothes, and prepare to sweat.

The Five Key Aspects of Yoga

  

CONCENTRATION

You will learn to focus and concentrate on the teacher's words and practice mindful breathing.

CONSISTENCY

Plan to take a class 2 to 3 times per week so you will see and feel the benefits of your work.

  

DETERMINATION

No problem if you fall out of a posture. Keep getting back in to build up your will power and stamina. You will get better each day.

PATIENCE

Notice not only the changes in your postures. Confidence and faith in yourself will serve you a lifetime!

Every day is a new chance to try your BEST. It's never to late to begin again. Enjoy the journey.
